Hales Hall Gardens
A Stunning Setting

Hales Hall Gardens

The renowned gardens at Hales Hall are framed by traditional brick-built Tudor walls, stout Yew hedges and a preserved ancient moat, all of which combine to provide genuine year-round interest. From the bright bulbs of Spring to the classic English roses of high summer and an impressive range of delicately-clipped topiary in a range of shades from sun-kissed bronze to deepest green.

The Potager is planted with an impressive variety of traditional and more unusual vegetables along with an intriguing selection of flowers growing alongside in pots and in beds. The Potager provides fresh vegetables for the family table all-year round, and some of the produce is even available to visitors.

The miniature orchard displays a selection of fruit trees growing in pots. There are Apples and Pears, Grapes and Figs, Cherries, Peaches and Apricots, along with Walnuts, Oranges and Medlars.
The greenhouses in both the garden and the nursery contain a fascinating array of plants and we are always delighted to explain the various methods of cultivation we employ.
The moat is home to a collection of Carp and we also keep a small flock of free-range Black Rock chickens to provide delicious fresh eggs to the family and our guests.
